Press Release Summary = The latest inflationary figures are misleading, it has been claimed.
Press Release Body = A report by Capital Economics for the Daily Telegraph has revealed the official consumer price index inflationary figure of 2.8 per cent is not reflective of the inflation encountered by many individual groups of Britons, including pensioners and hard-up families.
The survey found that despite falling energy bills, pensioners are actually subjected to an inflation rate of 7.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, the middle classes were badly affected by the rising cost of university tuition fees, and their own inflationary figure hit 7.4 per cent as a result.
\"Those people heavily exposed to energy or food prices, or those with children at private school or in the first year of university, are still seeing much higher rates of inflation than the published national average figure of 2.8 per cent,\" remarked Jonathan Loynes, chief European economist at Capital Economics in the Telegraph.
Britons in financial difficulty as a consequence of mounting mortgage costs and household bills could consider selling their homes to National Homebuyers and subsequently renting them back. Director Chris Newman says: \"Our sell and rent back solution is finding a natural home with those who are - or are predicting - the inability to sustain their lifestyle because of the rate of inflation.
\"The recent increase in monthly mortgage payments for many homeowners is forcing them to find alternative funding arrangements, like those offered by National Homebuyers.\"
National Homebuyers\' sell and rent back option is marketed as a \'real alternative\' to equity release, allowing people to release capital tied-up in their property, without the need for moving homes or being tied into a scheme or \'plan\'.
